Lafayette Academy Founders Museum

May 29 @ 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm UTC-7

Enjoy to an evening of history, artistry, and fellowship at Lafayette Academy: A Classical School.

As 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a renewed interest has emerged in remembering the men and women whose courage, wisdom, and sacrifice shaped the American experiment. Recently, the Department of Education unveiled a special exhibit at The White House, where portraits of these figures are brought to life through modern technology, inviting viewers into the stories of our past.

Using a smartphone, guests are able to scan each portrait, whereupon the figures and scenes will come to life, speaking and sharing their stories in their own voice, offering a vivid and memorable encounter with history.

Inspired by this effort, Lafayette Academy seeks to cultivate the same sense of wonder and reverence within our own community.

On Friday, May 29th, we will unveil our own Founders Museum, a curated collection of 83 portraits and historical scenes displayed throughout Lafayette Academy.

Using the same technology being used at The White House’s museum exhibit, our halls will be transformed into a living gallery, reflecting both the beauty of classical education and the enduring legacy of our nation’s founding.

We would be honored by your presence as you walk among these scenes, celebrating the beauty within our school while enjoying live music and light fare, and reflecting on the principles that guide us.
